Facebook usually stores two versions of a video: an HD encode and a smaller SD one. Which versions are offered depends on the original upload, so a video posted at low resolution has no HD rung to reveal. DropNFlix lists whichever the post genuinely holds, with file sizes, rather than relabelling SD as HD.

Facebook hands out several link shapes for the same content. The `fb.watch` short link from the Share sheet, the `facebook.com/watch/?v=` form, `/videos/` permalinks on a Page, `/reel/` links for Reels, and `m.facebook.com` links from the mobile site all point at the same video and all resolve the same way — paste whichever you have without trimming it.

Reels behave like any other video here and come back as vertical MP4 files, so the Reels tab needs no separate tool.

Videos posted to a private group, or shared only with friends, require an authorised session. The request stops at Facebook's permission check, so the link will fail no matter which tool receives it.

Some videos are geo-restricted by the rights holder and are only served to viewers in particular countries. A link that works for the person who sent it can therefore fail for you.

Live broadcasts cannot be saved mid-stream. Wait until the stream ends and Facebook publishes the recording, then copy the link to the finished post.

Facebook hands out a lot of URL shapes and DropNFlix accepts the common ones: full `facebook.com/watch/?v=…` and `/videos/…` permalinks, the short `fb.watch/…` links the Share button produces, `fb.com` links, and mobile `m.facebook.com` addresses copied from a phone browser.

On desktop, the most reliable link comes from the video's timestamp or the ⋯ menu → Copy Link. In the mobile app, use Share → Copy Link. You do not need to strip the query string afterwards — the extra parameters are ignored.

Only publicly visible videos resolve. Anything limited to Friends, posted inside a private group, or restricted to specific regions requires a logged-in session. A quick way to check: open the link in a private browsing window — if Facebook shows you a login wall there, the download will not work either.

Facebook typically stores a video at two or three quality tiers, and all of the ones it exposes are listed with their file size so you can choose deliberately. The HD tier is worth taking for anything you plan to watch on a laptop or TV; the SD tier is genuinely useful when you are on mobile data or saving a long clip to a nearly-full phone.

The ceiling is whatever Facebook stored, not what the uploader originally filmed — the platform re-encodes on upload, so an HD option may top out at 720p or 1080p even for a source that was sharper. Options at 480p and above are flagged Recommended.

Files come back as MP4 in a widely-compatible encode, so they open on Windows, macOS, iPhone, Android, and smart TVs without needing a codec pack or a conversion step.

Facebook Reels work the same way as standard video posts — copy the link, paste, download. Because Reels are vertical, their quality is labelled by the shorter side of the frame, so a full-height Reel reads as 720p rather than 1920p.

Longer uploads — full episodes, recorded streams, hour-long talks — resolve too, and the file size shown next to each quality is worth reading before you commit on a phone. An hour of HD video is a substantially bigger download than a 30-second Reel, and the listing tells you that before it starts rather than after.
